After the Moment of Truth: Overcoming Stage Fright the Natural Way

Come to Classroom 1 at noon on Tuesday, March 12, for a Lunch & Learn session on public speaking.

Dr. Chris Sawyer, Professor of Communication Studies at Texas Christian University, will examine causes of public speaking anxiety "stage fright" and provide methods to help reduce and alleviate anxiety caused by speaking in public. This presentation will be beneficial as you prepare for moot court, and for any other public speaking (be it in the courtroom or not) you may have to do in the future.

OU Law Students Invited to Dream Course Lecture with Carl Pope Feb. 27

OU Law students are invited to this week’s session of the Political Economy, Technological Innovation and Values Dream Course. The featured speaker is former Sierra Club executive director Carl Pope and current principal of Inside Straight Strategies. Pope will make two presentations on Feb. 27.

Come to the 9th Annual SATJ Pro Bono and Public Interest Career Fair

The 9th Annual Students for Access to Justice (SATJ) Pro Bono and Public Interest Career Fair will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Feb. 19 in Kerr Lounge. The fair brings employers from government, non-profit, and military organizations from Oklahoma, Texas, and even Missouri to campus – each sharing information about their services with students. More importantly, employers attend the fair to find students to partner with them in serving the public. Several employers have collected resumes ahead of time and will be conducting interviews during the fair.

Students Toast “Back to School” at Oxford-Style Pub Night

During the first week of the second semester, OU Law students gathered with faculty and staff at Amicus Café for a fun evening fashioned after the Oxford Summer Program’s pub nights. The event, co-hosted by the Student Services Office and the Oxford Summer Program, provided a great opportunity for students to celebrate the new semester and catch up after the holiday break.

Therapy dogs return to OU Law

Throughout the next three weeks, OU Law will again be hosting therapy dogs for students to hang out and play with while studying for final exams at Coats Hall. The certified therapy dogs are provided by the organization A New Leash on Life. The dogs are visiting to help students cope with the stress of finals, and students should feel free to approach them, pet them, and play with them as they please. Each dog will be accompanied by a trainer at all times.
