Professor Cheryl Wattley Honored by The DaVinci Institute

Congrats to Professor and OU Legal Clinic Director Cheryl Wattley, who recently received a creativity award and was named a Fellow of The DaVinci Institute. Wattley and other 2013 DaVinci award winners were honored at a March 29 banquet at the Oklahoma History Center in Oklahoma City.

The DaVinci Institute is a unique private partnership of leaders in higher education across the state of Oklahoma. The organization's goal is to nurture the Arts, Sciences, Humanities, and Education in Oklahoma as these fields undergo transformations in the twenty-first century.

OU Law Ranked in Top 15 Percent Best Law Schools Nationwide

The University of Oklahoma College of Law has been recognized in the top 15 percent of “Best Law Schools” in the country by National Jurist magazine. National Jurist staff created the list as an alternative to the the U.S. News and World Report’s annual law schools ranking by focusing “on what students find most important – quality teaching, cost efficiency, and post-graduate success.”

Four Students Graduate from Interdisciplinary Training Program on Child Abuse and Neglect

On Thursday, April 26, the Interdisciplinary Training Program on Child Abuse and Neglect held its graduation ceremony in Oklahoma City at the Health Sciences Center.  Four of our OU Law students received their certificates for completing this rigorous program:  Nicollette Brandt, Courtney Bucklin, Allyson Dow, and Kristin Fisher. In addition, Courtney Bucklin earned the Outstanding Student Award, the first OU Law student to do so in 8 years.

Students Recognized at Annual Pro Bono Awards Reception

On April 19, OU Law students were recognized for their volunteer hours at the Annual Pro Bono Awards Reception. In addition, more than $20,000 worth of summer fellowships were awarded to students doing public interest work.

The students and faculty below each have given in excess of 25 hours of law-related service since April 2011.
