Professor Lindsay Robertson Testifies Before Congress About Tax Reform

OU Law Professor Lindsay Robertson testified before the Senate Finance Committee on May 15 about what tax reform could mean for Native American tribes and territories. While this is Professor Robertson’s third trip to D.C. to testify before Congress, this is his first time testifying before the Senate Finance Committee. He has testified twice for the Indian Affairs Committee.

Closing Thoughts

This weekend, my best friends and I will be hooded and conferred with Juris Doctor degrees from a place we have come to call home.

It is true what they say, that law school is hard, and the academics are rigorous. But, it has been an experience I wouldn’t trade for anything.

You see, as much as I’ve learned at the College of Law about our nation’s founding transcribed in the text of our Constitution, or debated with my friends about the merits of an emerging area of Environmental Law, I have sincerely learned that we are more alike then we are different.

Four Students Graduate from Interdisciplinary Training Program on Child Abuse and Neglect

On Thursday, April 26, the Interdisciplinary Training Program on Child Abuse and Neglect held its graduation ceremony in Oklahoma City at the Health Sciences Center.  Four of our OU Law students received their certificates for completing this rigorous program:  Nicollette Brandt, Courtney Bucklin, Allyson Dow, and Kristin Fisher. In addition, Courtney Bucklin earned the Outstanding Student Award, the first OU Law student to do so in 8 years.

OU Law and OCDLA Host Reception Honoring Cindy Foley

The University of Oklahoma College of Law and the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association invite you to attend a reception honoring Cindy Foley and the presentation of a replica Lord Erskine trophy to the College of Law Legal Clinic on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Sneed Lounge. Please join the University of Oklahoma College of Law and the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association as we commemorate the awarding of the OCDLA's 2010 Lord Erskine to Cindy Foley.

Cindy passed away on August 10, 2010.

Students Meet the Energy Industry

On April 4, 2012, the University of Oklahoma College of Law hosted the Meet the Energy Industry Event at Bricktown Brewery in Oklahoma City.  In the past, this networking event has generously been sponsored by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation each year.  This year, Anadarko invited other corporate energy sponsors to participate and were joined by Chesapeake Energy Corporation, Continental Resources, and Devon Energy Corporation. 

More than 100 attorneys, landmen and students gathered to discuss careers and current events in the energy industry.
