Robert “Glenn” Carter (’11) of Norman, Oklahoma, landed a job as an advising attorney at the Social Security Administration Office of Disability Adjudication and Review. Working in the Office of Appellate Operations, Carter was told he was chosen for the position based upon his mock and moot court experience.
Some of his duties include providing independent technical assistance to the Appeals Council in review of decisions and dismissals rendered by administrative law judges and conducting in-depth review including any necessary research of the program and legal aspects in individual cases and an evaluation of the legal sufficiency of the administrative law judge's decision or dismissal.
Living only a block from the Supreme Court, Carter enjoys taking advantage of all D.C. has to offer. “From the history, to excellent museums, to the cherry blossoms in the spring, to the vibrant music scene, I feel D.C. has been a great place to experience culture,” he said. “The biggest shock would be having so many tourists around. I live very close to the Capitol and National Mall so there are thousands of people.”BACK TO MAIN
