OU Law Hosts Bolivian Indigenous Law Scholars

Professors Lindsay Robertson and Taiawagi Helton hosted a group of visiting scholars from Bolivia this month.  The guests were professors and students from the First Nations Rights Program at the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés Faculty of Law and Political Sciences in La Paz, Bolivia.

The 10-day visit included workshops at OU Law and interactions with OU Law and Native American Studies faculty and students. The group also visited interesting sites around Oklahoma, including the Chickasaw Cultural Center,  the Oklahoma City National Memorial, the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, and Native American art collections.

At the end of the visit, OU Law Dean Joe Harroz and Professor Liboria Uño signed an academic cooperation agreement between the two law schools.
