The Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) has selected Professor Owen Anderson as its 2014 Professor in Residence. He is the third professor to earn this honor. AIPN is an independent not-for-profit association supporting international energy negotiators around the world. It created the Professor in Residence appointment to encourage greater participation by Education Advisory Board (EAB) members at the Association.
Professor Anderson will act as an ambassador for AIPN and serve as a liaison between AIPN’s membership at large and the student community. He will attend three AIPN events around the world over the next year. Anderson will have an article published in the AIPN Advisor at the end of his year in residence describing his experience. This article will include a report on the events, offering suggestions on how AIPN and the EAB can provide greater value to members and their students. He will also provide his thoughts on how AIPN can improve or expand its role in the international oil and gas industry.
As part of the selection process, the AIPN evaluates the professors involvement with AIPN and the EAB member; participation and mentorship for existing student members; and student chapters and other AIPN initiatives.
Anderson was selected from a pool of professors from the United States, Brazil and Nigeria.
