OU Law and OCDLA Host Reception Honoring Cindy Foley

The University of Oklahoma College of Law and the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association invite you to attend a reception honoring Cindy Foley and the presentation of a replica Lord Erskine trophy to the College of Law Legal Clinic on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Sneed Lounge. Please join the University of Oklahoma College of Law and the Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyers Association as we commemorate the awarding of the OCDLA's 2010 Lord Erskine to Cindy Foley.

Cindy passed away on August 10, 2010.

Students Meet the Energy Industry

On April 4, 2012, the University of Oklahoma College of Law hosted the Meet the Energy Industry Event at Bricktown Brewery in Oklahoma City.  In the past, this networking event has generously been sponsored by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation each year.  This year, Anadarko invited other corporate energy sponsors to participate and were joined by Chesapeake Energy Corporation, Continental Resources, and Devon Energy Corporation. 

More than 100 attorneys, landmen and students gathered to discuss careers and current events in the energy industry.

A New Leash on Life: Therapy Dogs at OU Law

Are you a dog-lover? Do you need a short break from studies to de-stress a little? During the next two weeks, there will be therapy dogs in the building from an organization called “A New Leash on Life.” The dogs are here for your relaxation and enjoyment. Feel free to approach them, pet them, and hang out with them as you like. Each dog will be accompanied by a trainer at all times, and all of the dogs are certified therapy dogs. You will be able to identify the dogs by a red bandana that says “therapy dog,” and each trainer will be wearing ID, as well.

Students Recognized at Annual Pro Bono Awards Reception

On April 19, OU Law students were recognized for their volunteer hours at the Annual Pro Bono Awards Reception. In addition, more than $20,000 worth of summer fellowships were awarded to students doing public interest work.

The students and faculty below each have given in excess of 25 hours of law-related service since April 2011.
