The OPCD offers a variety of events throughout the academic year designed to help our students explore their career options and develop individual professional paths. Throughout the year, the OPCD offers a broad range of panel discussions, presentations, receptions, and workshops to provide students with the tools needed to develop successful careers.

Listed below are the events scheduled for the 2008 - 2009 academic year. Please note that certain events require students to RSVP.

Lunch & Learn: Do Your Legal Career Justice Department of Justice Volunteer/Intern/Employment Opportunities

Travis R. Chapman ('06), attorney with the U. S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division in Washington, DC, will be on campus to discuss the job opportunities that the Department of Justice has for law students and the various ways to apply for those opportunities. The program will focus on volunteer opportunities for 1Ls, the Department's "Summer Law Intern Program" for 2Ls, and the Department's "Attorney General's Honors Program" for 3Ls, which is the Department's program for hiring students for permanent attorney positions upon graduation for 3Ls.

3L Boot Camp is designed to do one thing-throw your career development into high gear! Third year students who have not secured employment are highly encouraged to attend. Students in attendance receive a Boot Camp workbook, hear from guest speakers, and receive a mentor.
