The OPCD offers a variety of events throughout the academic year designed to help our students explore their career options and develop individual professional paths. Throughout the year, the OPCD offers a broad range of panel discussions, presentations, receptions, and workshops to provide students with the tools needed to develop successful careers.
Listed below are the events scheduled for the 2009 - 2010 academic year. Please note that certain events require students to RSVP.

On-Campus Interview Preparation and Beyond

This program is designed particularly for first-year students (however, anyone wanting assistance with interviewing and the on-campus interview process is welcome to attend) who are interested in pursuing Spring 2010 on-campus interview opportunities. Students will: 1) understand what employers are seeking in candidates, 2) learn from students who have gone through the process, 3) how to keep perspective during the on-campus interview process, 4) how to navigate Symplicity, and 5) how to find summer employment outside of Symplicity.

Career Development Night is sponsored by Crowe & Dunlevy and Devon Energy Corporation for first-year law students. This program provides the "nuts & bolts" approach to creating a career path. Stop by to visit with a career counselor on putting the finishing touches on your resume and cover letter. Students interested in pursuing on-campus interviews or other summer clerkship opportunities for 2010 are encouraged to stop by to visit with a career counselor. Counselors will be meeting with students on a walk-in basis.

Students are invited to participate in our spring Mock Interview Program. To ensure that we have a sufficient number of attorney/professional interviewers, students must Schedule a mock interview SVP using Symplicity beginning Monday, January 4, 2010. The deadline to schedule your mock interview is Friday, January 15, 2010. Mock interviews will show you what to do -- and what not to do -- during interview process.
