Elizabeth Base is the associate director of the Office of Professional and Career Development (OPCD). She is a Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude graduate from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts in Letters. She earned her juris doctor with distinction from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. Following law school, she was a sole practitioner in Norman, Oklahoma, for more than fifteen years. Although she handled a variety of cases, her primary focus was in criminal law. Before coming to the law school, she served for one year as the pre-law advisor on OU's main campus, assisting all undergraduate students and alumni in the law school application process.
As associate director, Base is responsible in assisting with career planning, resume preparation and job search strategies. She takes an active role in recruitment for the On Campus Interview Program and expansion of out-of-state job prospects, with the goal of increasing job opportunities for both current students and alumni.
Elizabeth is admitted to practice in all Oklahoma state courts, the Western District of Oklahoma and the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals. She is a member of the Cleveland County Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, American Bar Association and NALP, the Association for Legal Career Professionals. She has also served as a board member on a variety of non-profit groups within the community for more than sixteen years.
