Certificates

OU Law J.D. students have the opportunity to enhance their degree by earning certificates in specific areas of law.

Value of a Certificate

Adding a specialty to your studies not only broadens your understanding of a certain discipline, but also enhances your marketability. OU Law offers certificates in American Indian and Indigenous Peoples Law; and Oil & Gas, Natural Resources, and Energy Law—topics that are vital to cultural significance and economic growth in Oklahoma, nationally, and around the globe.

Our certificate programs combine required and elective law coursework, practical learning experiences, and professional development opportunities. Additionally, depending on your chosen certificate, you’ll learn from subject matter experts at other OU colleges and departments.
