Professor Steven J. Cleveland, who joined the law faculty in 2002, teaches Corporations, Federal Securities Regulation, and Mergers & Acquisitions. His scholarly interests center on the market for corporate control.

At Georgetown, Cleveland served as Executive Articles Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal. Following graduation from law school, he served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Henry A. Politz of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Cleveland then was associated with the Washington, D.C. office of the law firm Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. At Skadden, he worked on various types of transactions, including tender offers, asset purchases, joint ventures and mergers.

Cleveland is a member of the Washington, D.C. and Georgia Bar Associations.
