Carl Ketner began his career at the University of Oklahoma in 1987, serving in various capacities in Information Technology before joining the College of Law as the Director of Technology in 1998.  He earned his bachelor’s in business administration from OU with a focus in accounting, graduating with distinction in 1985. In 2010, he earned his juris doctor from OU, graduating with honors.

As director, Ketner is responsible for all aspects of technology including security, servers, wireless, classroom and courtroom audio/visual technology, software development, hardware and software procurement, computer labs and building automation. Ketner was recruited in 1998 to oversee technology during the $20 million expansion and renovation of Andrew M. Coats Hall. Ketner was instrumental in organizing electronic displays outside of classrooms and incorporating leading-edge technology in classrooms, study rooms and court rooms. With his leadership, the Dick Bell Courtroom was built as one of the largest and most technologically advanced courtrooms in the country.

In addition to his IT work, Ketner also practices law, focusing on wills and trusts for small estates in his spare time.  Ketner is admitted to practice in all Oklahoma state courts. He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
