OU Law Center Offers Paralegal Orientation Aug. 18

NORMAN – Those interested in a paralegal career are invited to a free orientation seminar sponsored by the University of Oklahoma Department of Legal Assistant Education 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the OU Law Center, 300 Timberdell Road in Norman.
OU legal assistant program instructors and graduates will be joined by representatives of professional paralegal organizations to discuss the legal assistant education program and paralegal profession. The program teaches skills necessary to perform a variety of law-related tasks, including legal research and drafting legal documents.
OU is enrolling students for Fall 2012 classes, including Civil Procedure I, Introduction to Law, Criminal Law, Professional Ethics, Legal Analysis, Health Care Law Seminar, Mediation Seminar, Law Practice Management, Investigation and Discovery and Legal Research. The courses are designed to train individuals as paralegals for careers in private, corporate and government law-related activities. Classes are offered on Saturdays at the OU Law Center in order to allow students to continue working while studying for their certificate.
