OU Law Center Offers Paralegal Orientation Jan. 11
NORMAN – Those interested in a paralegal career are invited to a free orientation seminar sponsored by the University of Oklahoma Department of Legal Assistant Education from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at the OU Law Center, 300 Timberdell Road in Norman.
OU legal assistant program instructors, graduates and representatives of professional paralegal organizations will discuss the legal assistant education program and paralegal profession. The program teaches skills necessary to perform a variety of law-related tasks, including legal research and drafting legal documents.
Spring 2014 classes include Civil Procedure II, Trial Techniques Seminar, Computerized Legal Research, Torts, Insurance Law, Evidence, Introduction to Law, Legal Analysis, Legal Writing and Resume Writing and Interviewing Seminar. The courses are designed to train individuals as paralegals for careers in private, corporate and government law-related activities. Classes are offered on Saturdays at the OU Law Center in order to allow students to continue working while studying for their certificate.
