NORMAN - Combining the fields of law and business, the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art will host a public symposium titled “Producing Success: An Interdisciplinary Look at the Functions of an Entertainment Enterprise” 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19. The symposium explores a range of topics from copyright to fostering creativity for business as well as business goals and brand management. The symposium is a collaboration with the OU Michael F. Price College of Business and the College of Law.
“The Disney symposium provides students and visitors the opportunity to explore other aspects of the Walt Disney experience,” said Jessica Farling, coordinator of academic programs. “This interdisciplinary approach will give visitors a better understanding of how The Walt Disney Company operates behind the scenes and continues to remain a successful and relevant organization in the 21st century.”
Guest presenters include Ed Grier, former top-level executive for The Walt Disney Company for 29 years; Joni Newkirk, former senior vice president of Business Insight and Improvement at The Walt Disney Company; Kevin Daley, attorney in the intellectual property group at The Walt Disney Company; and Alan Garfield, a distinguished professor of law on Widener’s Delaware campus.
The symposium and lunch are free but seating is limited and attendees must register by phone at (405) 325-5990 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Online registration also is available at http://tinyurlcom/FJJMA-registration.
