    ALUMNI / DONORS

    • From Sheridan Haynes, Director

As the cost of a legal education continues to increase, private financial support for student scholarships has become even more critical. We cannot thank our donors enough for their continued support.

    • From Dean Harroz

When I meet with alumni, I am always amazed to discover how many have never made it back to Norman.  While I encourage you to come tour the campus (you won’t believe the changes!), I am equally as eager to come visit you in your hometowns. I hope to see you at an upcoming alumni event.

OXFORD SUMMER PROGRAM

For almost 40 years, the University of Oklahoma College of Law has conducted a program at Oxford University for American law students. The Oxford Summer Program affords students an opportunity to live and study in stimulating and beautiful surroundings under the guidance of American and English legal educators. It also affords students the opportunity to visit and observe English legal institutions.

Oxford is one of the great architectural treasures of the world, containing examples of building styles from the eleventh to the twentieth centuries. Along with Cambridge, Oxford University is one of the two universities in Europe that has preserved the medieval collegiate system.  Brasenose College, where the OU program is held, is located in Radcliffe Square in the center of Oxford.  It is surrounded by St. Mary’s Church, All Souls College, the Bodleian (University) Library and Exeter College.  Brasenose College is a descendant of Brasenose Hall, which traces its history to 1262.

HISTORY

The College of Law has been hosting an Oxford Summer Program since 1974.  The program has been at Brasenose College since 1999.  The total number of students participating in the 2011 summer program was 38. This included 28 students from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and 10 students from other law schools.
