David A. Poarch

A 1977 graduate of The University of Oklahoma College of Law, David A. Poarch was appointed Assistant Dean for External Affairs in 1997. He retired in 2011, and he continues to serve the College in an advisory role.

Following several years of public service as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Oklahoma he was engaged in the private practice of law for more than 10 years, representing individuals and businesses in a variety of litigated matters. In addition, immediately prior to joining the College, for six years he served as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel for the Oklahoma subsidiary of a Fortune 500 company.

Poarch is a member of the American Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, and numerous local bar associations in Oklahoma, as well as a number of active State Bar Committees. He is licensed to practice in all Oklahoma state and federal courts and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Dean Poarch also serves as a Master of the Luther Bohanon Chapter of the American Inns of Court and is an active elected member of the Oklahoma Bar Association Board of Governors, 2001-2003.
