    ALUMNI / DONORS

    • From Sheridan Haynes, Director

As the cost of a legal education continues to increase, private financial support for student scholarships has become even more critical. We cannot thank our donors enough for their continued support.

    • From Dean Harroz

When I meet with alumni, I am always amazed to discover how many have never made it back to Norman.  While I encourage you to come tour the campus (you won’t believe the changes!), I am equally as eager to come visit you in your hometowns. I hope to see you at an upcoming alumni event.

2012 PROGRAM DETAILS

The 2012 Oxford Summer Program will be held at Brasenose College in Oxford, England, from July 1 to August 4.  Scheduled program activities include a reception for all participants the evening of arrival, a field trip by motor coach to “Legal London” and several informal gatherings during the course of the program for students and faculty.  These events are included in the program costs.

A total of 12 credit hours will be offered. Students must enroll in at least four credit hours and may take up to six hours. Students may not enroll in classes that meet more than 220 minutes a day in total.  Classes will not meet on Fridays during the first four weeks of the program, so students will have several long weekends for travel and sight-seeing.

The courses will be taught by American and English faculty. All courses are letter graded, with a final examination or paper.

Credit in all courses will be granted by the University of Oklahoma College of Law. The University of Oklahoma College of Law became a member of the Association of American Law Schools in 1911 and has been on the approved list of the American Bar Association since this list was first published in 1923. ABA and AALS requirements will be met. Law schools whose students have attended previous sessions have approved the transfer of credits for the courses taken by their students. Acceptance of any credit or grade for any course taken in the Program is subject to determination by the student's home school.

HOUSING AND MEALS

Students are housed in Brasenose College. Rooms are for single occupancy and are equipped with desks and other study facilities. Brasenose College has limited facilities to accommodate married couples or children. Students who wish to bring spouses or children must contact the Director to determine whether suitable accommodations are available. Spouses and others accompanying enrolled students must pay for meals and housing.

Meals included in the program are served in Brasenose College’s recently renovated historic Dining Hall.  The meals provided include breakfast daily and dinner Sunday through Thursday.

Occupants of Brasenose College are subject to standards of conduct applicable to Brasenose students. The privilege of residing at Brasenose may be terminated for behavior such as vandalism or trespass into private areas of the College.

TRANSPORTATION

Students will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements to and from Oxford, England. Since flights fill up early, students are urged to make arrangements for their travel as soon as possible.

SPECIAL ASSISTANCE

England, Oxford and Brasenose College are accessible to individuals with disabilities. Any student with disabilities should submit documentation to the University of Oklahoma College of Law so that appropriate arrangements can be made. Students needing special assistance on examinations due to disabilities should contact the director immediately.
