SECOND CENTURY SCHOLARSHIP SOCIETY
Although the OU College of Law has been able to keep its tuition rates relatively low, tuition has steadily increased over the years, making it more and more difficult for students to obtain a legal education. About two-thirds of OU Law students take out loans to pay the costs of their legal education, which increasingly affects the choices they make upon graduation.
Therefore, the College of Law has increased its focus on scholarships in hopes of increasing the number of scholarships available to students. By increasing the number of scholarships available, it gives us a competitive edge in recruiting top students, reducing the amount of college loan debt that students take on and ensures our students pursue their dreams, not just work to pay off debt.
The goal of the Dean’s Second Century Scholarship Society is to secure 100 scholarships of $1500 each year. Members will be asked to consider a three-year commitment.
