Professor Travis, senior attorney at Travis Law Office, has been a fixture in the Oklahoma legal landscape for over fifty years. He practiced insurance defense for twenty-five years before switching to devote his practice to representing plaintiffs. A plaintiff’s attorney now for over twenty-five years, Rex celebrated his 50th year as an Oklahoma attorney in 2012. Well respected in the legal community, other attorneys often seek out Rex and Travis Law Office for matters involving insurance coverage and personal injury litigation.

He has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Law since 1994, teaching Insurance Law, Advanced Torts, and Conflicts of Law. He also taught Insurance Law at Oklahoma City University School of Law from 1993-2010 and in the Legal Assistant Program at University of Oklahoma College of Law from 1986-1992. In addition to OU law classes, Rex currently teaches continuing legal education (CLE) courses to practicing attorneys, presenting seminars for various bar groups on subjects related to torts and insurance law and professional responsibility.

Professor Travis has long been active in Oklahoma legal organizations. Current memberships include: Oklahoma County Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association , American Bar Association, Oklahoma Association for Justice, American Association for Justice, Luther Bohanon American Inn of Court XXIII. Past memberships and leadership roles include: Chairman: Oklahoma County Bar Association: Bench and Bar Committee, 1976-77; Prepaid Legal Services Committee, 1976-77; Continuing Legal Education Committee, 1979; Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association, Amicus Curiae Committee, 1985-87, 1989-92; Oklahoma County Bar Association Board of Directors, 1978-82 and 1983-86; Vice President, Oklahoma County Bar Association, 1978-79; General Counsel, Oklahoma County Bar Association, 1979-82; Vice President, Oklahoma County Bar Association, 2001-2002, President, Oklahoma County Bar Association, 2003-2004; Board of Directors Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association, 1985-present; Oklahoma Bar Association Legal Ethics Committee, 1985-91, 2012-present; Luther Bohanon American Inn of Court XXIII, Master (President, 2006-2007).

He is admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, Oklahoma Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and United States District Courts for the Western, Eastern, and Northern Districts of Oklahoma.
