About

Mr. Gottshall joined the University of Oklahoma in 2016 as adjunct professor. He has more than 25 years of experience as a transactional attorney in the oil and gas industry and has managed a wide variety of transactions related to the exploration, development, and production of hydrocarbons across the U.S. Onshore, Gulf of Mexico, and international regions.

He began his career as a clerk for the Chief Justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court. He then served in various legal, land, and negotiation positions of increasing responsibility for Kerr-McGee Corporation including Sr. Counsel and Director of International Negotiations. In these roles, he managed a team of attorneys responsible for international negotiations and legal compliance. Most recently, he was the General Manager of Land and Negotiations for Murphy Exploration and Production Company managing a team of attorneys and landmen responsible for domestic and international land and negotiation functions.
