A citizen of the Chickasaw Nation and a sitting Judge for the Sac and Fox Nation of Oklahoma, Michael Smith teaches courses on tribal courts and tribal sovereignty. Smith also serves as a Court Advocate for the Judicial Branch of the Chickasaw Nation.

Smith practices law at Smith & Smith Attorneys with concentrations in Administrative Law, Disability Social Security, and General Practice.
