Moira Gillis Watson joined the College of Law faculty in the fall of 2015 and currently teaches Secured Transactions and Corporate Finance.

Moira began her career as a tax associate in the Houston office of Fulbright & Jaworski LLP (now Norton Rose Fulbright), having also worked for the New York and London offices of Linklaters LLP. Her legal experience has ranged from drafting Initial Public Offering disclosure statements to property tax abatement agreements negotiated with local government. She recently received her doctorate from the Law Faculty at the University of Oxford (Brasenose College), and continues an active legal practice as Counsel to the boutique energy firm of Gilllis, Borchardt, and Barthel, LLP. She is published in the field of corporate and tax law and gives presentations covering a variety of transactional issues, such as roll-up transactions, cross-border charitable donations, and municipal bond financings. Her current research interests include the legal history of the Anglo-American corporation and contemporary energy law issues particularly as they affect the hydroelectric power industry.
