Giving Impact Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic

Thanks to our generous donors, the OU College of Law was able to establish an Emergency Relief Fund in April 2020 to help provide financial assistance to students impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. From April to June (end of fiscal year 2020), 16 students received financial support with a combined total of $14,688.00. The initiative is ongoing. To donate, please click here.

Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher Chair in Civil Rights, Race and Justice in Law

In September 2019 in honor of Dr. Ada Lois Sipuel Fisher and the 70th anniversary of her law school admission, the College of Law began an initiative to establish an endowed fund accepting contributions from multiple donors to create an endowed chair, one of the highest faculty distinctions at OU. The chair will ensure that the study of civil rights, race and justice is an integral part of the College of Law in perpetuity.

Fiscal Year 2021 update:

Inspired by over 80 individual donors’ contributions to the chair, an anonymous family foundation donated funds allowing for the full endowment of the chair. To encourage continued donations to the fund, the family has agreed to match dollar for dollar up to an additional $90,000 for the fund. Now that the fund has been endowed, OU Law is in the process of recruiting a faculty member to fill the position in fall of 2021.  To learn more, click here. Second Century Scholarship Matching Campaign

Thanks to a combined matching initiative from Bruce Wilkinson (’69), Mike Burrage (‘74) and Reggie Whitten ('80), the Second Century Scholarship Society raised a total of $144,000 in fiscal year 2020 to help provide nearly 100 recruiting scholarships for the College of Law in academic year 2020-2021.
