Sean Harrington Joins OU Law Library

NORMAN, OKLA. – The University of Oklahoma Law Center welcomes Sean Harrington as the Director of Technology Innovation at the Donald E. Pray library. Harrington takes over the position formerly held by Kenton Brice, who takes over as Director of the Law Library.

“We’re so excited to have Sean joining us,” Brice said. “This position is extremely important to us and Sean’s accomplishments and background mean that OU Law will continue to be at the forefront of innovation.”

Harrington holds a Juris Doctor degree, a Masters in Library and Information Science, and a Master of Science in Data Analytics.  He served as the Law and Technology Librarian for Arizona State University’s Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. In this role Sean was able to focus his attention on new technologies in legal research and teach a course for JD students.  Since the explosion of AI and large language models, Sean has focused on developing programs and writing about AI in legal research and law practice.

During his time as director of technology and innovation, Brice built on the college-wide Digital Initiative to make the library a leader in technology and innovation. It was the first law school in the world to receive the Apple Distinguished School award and has been listed as a Top 20 Most Innovative Law School multiple times.
