Meet the Class of 2015
Jon SterlingSpring, Texas
1. Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Spring, Texas, a suburb of Houston.
2. Where did you attend undergrad?
I attended the University of Texas at Austin.
3. What degree(s) have you earned?
I have a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate.
4. Why did you choose to attend OU Law?
When deciding on which law school to attend, I wanted to choose one that shared values most important to me. After discovering the numerous pro bono opportunities available to law students at OU (such as the Students for Access to Justice and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance programs), I realized that the University of Oklahoma College of Law is a legal community that will provide me opportunities to serve, study with others who share my goals and ambitions, and most importantly, receive a top-caliber legal education.
5. What is your favorite thing about OU?
When I visited the law school, I met people from the Office of Admissions, current students and even Dean Evans. Everyone was extremely friendly and willing to help, making me feel welcome and already included in the OU Law community.
6. What (or who) inspired you to pursue a legal education?
Through my studies of commercial real estate development, I was intrigued by the importance of contracts. Attorneys must represent their clients ethically and use clear language to reach a mutual agreement before any other actions are taken. I felt that having a comprehensive understanding of contracts (and the law as a whole) would provide not only an advantage in the business world, but also opportunities to serve the community.
7. What is an interesting fact about you?
My height; I am six feet six inches tall.
