Meet the Class of 2015
Kaitlyn SchrickFrederick, Oklahoma
1. Where did you grow up?
I have grown up all over the United States. My father has been an officer in the U.S. Army since I was born, so my family and I have lived all over the country, from Washington to Tennessee and everywhere in between. We tend to consider my parent's hometown of Frederick, Oklahoma to be our "home."
2. Where did you attend undergrad?
I attended East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee.
3. What degree(s) have you earned?
I have earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science with a minor in Legal Studies.
4. Why did you choose to attend OU Law?
After spending my life moving every few years, I loved the thought of moving back to the place that I have always considered to be my home state. Once I did my research and discovered the fantastic reputation of OU Law and the brilliant lawyers that it produced, my decision was made.
5. What is your favorite thing about OU?
The gorgeous campus and, of course, the football!
6. What (or who) inspired you to pursue a legal education?
I have always had an interest in the law, but never had very much exposure to it. I sought out more experience in the legal world and enrolled in a business-focused legal course, where I met the professor who sparked my passion for the law, Dr. Michael McKinney, a Columbia Law graduate. He explained the law, how it works and how it affects us in almost every aspect of life in a way that made me so enamored by the subject. I have taken every legal course avaliable to me and have become obsessed with the law ever since.
7. What is an interesting fact about you?
I was chosen by my undergraduate university to be a participant in the state-wide Tennessee Intercolligiate State Legislature Moot Court competition, in which every college or university in the state was invited to compete. After three days of competion, my co-councelor and I finished as semi-finalist.
