Norman, Oklahoma

1. Where did you grow up?

Born and raised in Norman, Oklahoma!

2. Where did you attend undergrad?

The University of Mississippi

3. What degree(s) have you earned?

B.A. English & History

4. Why did you choose to attend OU Law?

While I loved my undergraduate experience in the deep South, moving away from Norman and all I had ever known allowed me to realize how rare it is live in such an honest and down-to-earth community.  I knew I wanted to be near my family, and attending OU Law seemed like the perfect opportunity to learn how to give back to the place that has made me who I am today.

5. What is your favorite thing about OU?

The school pride. I have literally been Sooner born and Sooner bred. Some (incredibly misinformed) people might have unkind things to say about Oklahoma, but I'd like to see one them attend an OU football game and not be swept away by the unity of this city.

6. What (or who) inspired you to pursue a legal education?

My father has inspired me to pursue my legal education. He  graduated from OU Law with distinction in 1987. Growing up I remember begging him to tell me about the cases he was working on. We would drive to soccer practice discussing and debating the issues (though I'm fairly sure my pre-teen legal reasoning was primarily founded upon whatever happened in the most recently aired episode of Law and Order). As cliche as it may sound, both of my parents have taught me that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.

7. What is an interesting fact about you?

My junior year of college I studied abroad in Dublin, Ireland. It was the most amazing semester of my life. I turned 21 (two days after my arrival), celebrated St. Patrick's Day with the locals, attended the Ireland v. Scotland rugby match, and lived with students from all over the globe. I  also took the opportunity to travel throughout Europe during my stay and, in the process, made a handful of lifelong friends.
