OU Law Professor Sarah Burstein’s article, The “Article of Manufacture” in 1887, was recently identified as one of the best works of recent scholarship relating to intellectual property in a review published in Jotwell: The Journal of Things We Like (Lots).
Mark McKenna, Professor of Law and Notre Dame Presidential Fellow at Notre Dame Law School, provided a thorough review of Prof. Burstein’s work, which examines the historical context behind what defines a design for an article of manufacture. Professor McKenna is widely recognized as a leading intellectual property scholar, having published in many of the most prestigious journals in his field.
Professor Burstein joined the OU Law faculty in 2012. She teaches Intellectual Property, Trademarks, Copyright and Patents. She also coaches the International Trademark Association (INTA) Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court Competition team.
