Meet the Class of 2015
Isaac DicksonDayton, Oregon
1. Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Dayton, Oregon
2. Where did you attend undergrad?
Brigham Young University
3. What degree(s) have you earned?
B.S. in Finance
4. Why did you choose to attend OU Law?
I have spent the last year and a half working for Chesapeake Energy. I wanted to study law somewhere that could help me leverage my experience in the oil and gas industry, so the University of Oklahoma was the obvious choice.
5. What is your favorite thing about OU?
OU’s ties to the oil and gas industry were very appealing, but perhaps what is more important is OU’s football tradition. As a BYU alumnus, I experienced heart-wrenching disappointment every year of my undergrad. The kind of disappointment you could feel only when your team comes so close to national recognition, but then chokes when it counts. OU has a strong football tradition so I am hoping that the next few years will give me the chance to cheer for a national championship team.
6. What (or who) inspired you to pursue a legal education?
I lived abroad for several years. My time outside the U.S. filled me with appreciation and respect for the strong system of laws that protect us, so when I got back to America I decided to study law and contribute to the work I appreciate so much.
7. What is an interesting fact about you?
I lived in Siberia for almost two years and learned to speak Russian fluently.
