Grant CarpenterTulsa, Oklahoma
1. Where did you grow up?
2. Where did you attend undergrad?
I attended Southern Methodist University
3. What degree(s) have you earned?
My degree is a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance
4. Why did you choose to attend OU Law?
I realized I wanted to come back to Oklahoma after my undergrad either to get a job or continue my education. When I realized I wanted to pursue a law degree, I knew I had to go to OU because that is where both my dad and granddad got their law degrees.
5. What is your favorite thing about OU?
My favorite thing about OU is the people. Everyone I have met with and talked to have been the nicest and most helpful people.
6. What (or who) inspired you to pursue a legal education?
Both my dad and granddad are who inspired me to pursue law. Everyday my dad would come home from work and would always love to tell us about his day. He also loves to tell us about when he worked with my granddad and every other job he had. It really got me interested in the legal profession when he told his stories.
7. What is an interesting fact about you?
I studied abroad in Paris during the Fall semester of my junior year. During that time I decided to take my arts perspective class that semester. I ended up taking art history, which turned out to be an amazing decision. Since I was taking that class, I got a student pass that got me into the Louvre and the Musee D'Orsay for free. This was put to good use since 2-3 times a week, my class would meet in one of these museums to study the paintings directly. This was probably one of the most amazing experiences that I took back from Paris.
