About

Michelle Stephens served as an Assistant Attorney General for Attorneys General Susan Loving and Drew Edmondson. She later joined the Kerr Center for Sustainable Agriculture to found the Public Policy and Rural Development program.  The Kerr Center focused on sustainable rural development and legal issues important to rural Oklahomans. Michelle served on the Weatherford Board of Education and is a member of the Board of Trustees for Oklahoma Christian University. She is also active as a member of the Oklahoma State 4-H Horse Council and former member of the Oklahoma 4-H Volunteer Council.  Michelle serves as chair of the Board of Directors for the Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust (TSET) which oversees evidence-based initiatives designed to fight Oklahoma's two leading causes of preventable death (cancer and cardiovascular disease) by encouraging Oklahomans to eat better, move more and be tobacco free.  Ms. Stephens previously served on the Oklahoma Commission for Human Services, which oversees the state Department of Human Services. She also served on the State Board of Education and State Career Tech Board.   

Michelle and her husband, Weatherford dentist Dr. Brian Stephens, have two children.
