
OU Law Professor Megan Shaner, OG&E General Counsel William Sultemeier, and Business Law Society President Preston Sullivan
OU Law’s Business Law Society today hosted William H. Sultemeier, General Counsel of OGE Energy Corp. and OG&E, who shared with students his experiences as a complex and international business law attorney and now as general counsel.
Sultemeier graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Brigham Young University. He also holds a Master of Business Administration with high honors from the University of Georgia, and earned his J.D. with a magna cum laude distinction from Saint Louis University School of Law.
Following law school, Sultemeier served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for Anesthesia Healthcare Partners in Atlanta and as a partner (shareholder) at the Greenberg Traurig law firm in Houston. Before moving to Oklahoma, he was most recently a partner at the Houston office of the Jones Day law firm, where he practiced in their energy practice.
Sultemeier has over 20 years of large law firm, general counsel, and transactions management experience. He has counseled clients on deal structuring and execution, regulatory trends and compliance, and board of director duties and strategies to improve and advance business goals. He also has significant experience with international transactions, including transactions in China, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand.
The mission of OU Law’s Business Law Society is to strengthen the understanding of business law practice for all members. The group was formed in 2016, and its current president is 3L Preston Sullivan.
